Oskar Blues Brewery, one of the best- known and most beloved purveyors of the craft, has a new beer designed for those who love hazy IPA and want to transform their experience to new levels.
The new product is called Thick Haze New England Style IPA and it’s a beer that easily lives up to its name. The product was developed in both the Oskar Blues Colorado and North Carolina taprooms and it is a beast of a hazy IPA. The folks at Oskar Blues use excessive levels of hops to result in a full- bodied beer that releases flavors such as pineapple, mango, melon, and citrus notes. An assortment of hops that includes the likes of Calypso, Cashmere, Eureka, and Galaxy help lead to this fruity/hoppy burst of flavors.
Oskar Blues Head Brewer Juice Drapeau says this beer is one specifically designed for New England IPA hopheads.
“We crafted Thick Haze to be the ultimate beast of a New England IPA – a full-blown freakout for hops,” said Drapeau. “We layered the hop profile to maximize all of the flavors we are diggin’ right now – tropical fruit, melon and citrus.”
Thick Haze New England Style IPA contains 7 percent alcohol by volume and 45 IBU of bitterness. It is available on draft and in six packs of 12 oz. cans. There is no word on whether this is going to be a regular release beer. Look for it in places where Oskar Blues beers are currently sold and grab some of this hoppy goodness while supplies last.
