Louisiana’s own Parish Brewing, a brewery that dates back to 2008 and ranks as the second largest brewery in the state, is about to expand in a major way, sending its quality brew across the Sabine River for the first time as it debuts in the Houston, Texas area. Parish Brewing will partner with Silver Eagle Distributors, bringing its quality beer to Houstonians first in draft and eventually in packaged form across the metropolitan area.
Parish Brewing founder Andrew Godley says the demand for his brewery’s products has been strong among Texans and he is thrilled to finally meet the need.
“We get calls and emails almost daily from the Texas market asking for our beers, and we have been working hard to increase production capacity to finally be able to sell our products in Houston,” said Godley. “We are excited to finally be a big part of the market and will focus on getting our full distributed portfolio to retailers across the area. Texans are our neighbors and we will work hard to grow our brands there – the market is very important to our company. And yes, this means we will be distributing Ghost in the Machine in Texas!”
Parish Brewing plans to kick off its Houston craft beer invasion with a lineup of year round beers that includes:
Canebrake: This refreshing American wheat ale is brewed using Oregon- grown Cascade hops and with its wheat malt additions, it satisfies with a honey sweet malt body balanced with notes of citrus.
Envie: An American pale ale, Envie is a hop lover’s dream, with an aroma and flavor that features mango, lychee, orange, and other assorted tropical fruits. Unlike some of the equally assertive, fruity IPA on the market, however, Envie keeps the bitterness component in check.
South Coast: Amber ales often take a back seat to more popular craft beer styles and many craft breweries don’t even offer one in their lineup. But South Coast is an amber ale that could change that trend. It’s a balanced ale with mild to moderate flavors, perfect for those times when you crave the taste of malty goodness that made you fall in love with beer in the first place but don’t want something that is too strong or too full in taste.
Ghost in the Machine: If you love double IPA the way I do, then you must get your hands on a serving of Ghost in the Machine. The beer is brewed with generous quantities of Citra hops from Yakima Valley, WA for a taste profile that is hoppy, hoppy, hoppy!
Rêve: Coffee beers are all the rage and this silky, smooth stout will have you reminiscing about all of the reasons why you love this style the way you do. It’s brewed with a carefully selected blend of specialty grade estate beans from Columbia and Java for a result that is much like a cold brew coffee, but with added malt goodness.
Silver Eagle Distributors chairman and CEO John L. Nau III can’t wait to introduce Parish Brewing’s quality beer to the local Houston market.
“Silver Eagle is excited to be working with the exceptional team at Parish Brewing Co. to introduce Houstonians to the brewery’s great line-up of beers. We are glad Parish chose Silver Eagle for its debut into Texas and have no doubt Texans will enjoy their brews as much as our Louisianan neighbors do,” said Nau.
