Perrin Brewing, one of Michigan’s best-known breweries, has released another creative beer, one bound to tickle the fancy of cake lovers everywhere. The new brew is Carrot Cake Cream Ale, the first 2020 release in Perrin’s Side Hustle Series.
True to the classic dessert for which it is named, Carrot Cake Cream Ale is brewed using real carrots, pineapple, and lactose to create a dessert like character. Perrin Brewing doesn’t skimp on these key ingredients- they use 300 pounds of real carrots and even add actual carrot cakes from local favorite Arnie’s Bakery to create an authentic flavor. Arnie’s makes its decadent carrot cake using only the finest carrots, raisins, pineapple, cake flour, eggs, and whipped cream cheese frosting. Seven of these cakes were added to the mash, giving the beer even more carrot cake character.
Jimmy and Arne Fahlen of Arnie’s Bakery say the partnership with Perrin Brewing is all about bringing together two businesses that both stress the utmost levels of quality, combining the unique skills of each company to create a delicious finished product.
“Excellence is doing ordinary things extraordinarily well. With our award-winning carrot cake and Perrin’s excellent brewing talents we know you’ll love this new Side Hustle release. Working with the good, honest, and passionate people at another local business makes it fun to collaborate and create together”, said Arnie’s.
Perrin Brewing plans to brew a new Side Hustle Series beer every other month for release in Michigan. Carrot Cake Cream Ale is currently available in the Perrin Pub on draft and in 6 packs of 12 oz. cans.
