Perrin Brewing of Comstock Park, Michigan, just announced the release of another beer in its Side Hustle Series. The new beer is called Harden The Hop Up, a Double IPA that will be available in 6 packs of 12 oz. cans and on draft.
Side Hustle is a name given to a series of beers that highlight unique and experimental brew. Harden the Hop Up is a citrus- accented beer brewed using a hop bill that includes Galaxy, Ella, and Enigma for a flavor that emphasizes citrus, floral, spice, and even notes of pinot gris. These hops are native to the Oceania region of the world, an area that encompasses the south and south west Pacific and includes Australia and New Zealand. They are increasingly sought after by craft breweries for the unique flavor characteristics they impart.
Harden the Hop Up is the second release in the Side Hustle Series and it follows the release of Carrot Cake Cream Ale. This first release was markedly different in composition and character, as it was brewed with pineapple, carrots, and lactose, resulting in a flavor indicative of a slice of freshly made carrot cake. The malty emphasis of Carrot Cake Cream Ale contrasts in most ways with the hoppy flavors of Harden the Hop Up and serves to broaden the flavor possibilities of this young but popular beer series.
Perrin Brewing will begin serving Harden the Hop Up in the Perrin Pub on March 28, 2019. The beer will be distributed throughout the Michigan market starting in April. To keep up to date with this and other Perrin Brewing happenings, be sure to follow the Facebook pageĀ here.
