An American pizza chain is about to make drinking beer with your pizza more convenient than before.
Pizza Hut, the company that introduced the world to stuffed- crust pizza pies, is expanding its beer delivery service in Arizona and California. The Yum Brands subsidiary hopes that adding a six pack of cold beer to the delivery experience will help win more customers to its side and push back continuing competitive threats from other chains and from local pizza operations.
Pizza Hut first tested its beer delivery service in December, 2017 at a location in downtown Phoenix. Arizona. Results were positive and now Pizza Hut is expanding its beer delivery to additional Pizza Hut locations in Phoenix, Glendale, and Tucson Arizona along with Los Angeles, Sacramento, Bakersfield, Riverside, Santa Clara, and Santa Barbara, California. More California cities are slated to be added by the end of the month.
Pizza and beer are common companions so adding beer delivery to pizza delivery seems like a logical step. However, before you race to your computer to see if your favorite craft beer is part of offering, bear in mind that Pizza Hut has partnered only with Anheuser- Busch and MillerCoors at the moment. Thus, a sixer of Coors Light, Budweiser, or something similar is all you can order, at least for now.
The United States presently has about 6,300 Pizza Hut locations and, according to sources, about 1,700 presently have a liquor license. This will make it reasonably easy to expand the beer delivery service to more locations. If the program continues to see success, it will likely be introduced to more and more Pizza Hut restaurants across the United States and, hopefully, will also expand to include local craft beer.
What could be better with pizza:)
Are they delivering beer in New Jersey too? I am loving this idea:)
I don’t think the service is offered in New Jersey yet, but it’s only a matter of time.
