Arizonans thirsty for a new batch of craft beer-centric celebrations need wait only until summer, when the Arizona Craft Brewers Guild’s Real, Wild & Woody Part Deux will showcase the region’s best craft brewers.
On tap from 2 pm – 6 pm Saturday, July 18, 2015 at the Phoenix Convention Center (South Building, Hall F), the intimate, one-of-a-kind small-scale celebration for the true craft brew connoisseur will once again welcome fresh flavors and seasonal specialties from more than 60 small and large breweries from across the state and beyond.
From barrel-aged brews to specialty casks, Real, Wild & Woody revelers can sip on some of the state’s most notable brews, including a bevy of wild and unconventional varieties not found anywhere else that showcase Arizona’s unique and innovative brewing style. Love the product at the Strong Beer Festival, but perhaps prefer a more intimate setting? High-ABV beers will make their return to the Valley at this event, in addition to an assortment of special seasonal brews, beer cocktails and other small-batch favorites.
Revelers need sustenance to soak up all that alcohol, so Real, Wild & Woody will once again partner with some of the region’s top restaurants to provide tastes and plates for festival patrons.
“Things tend to slow down a bit around here during the summer season,” said Rob Fullmer, Executive Director of the Arizona Craft Brewers Guild. “Real, Wild & Woody brings something different to the table, and its small-scale environment and personal, friendly nature gives brewers the ability to really connect with their customers, colleagues and the community-at-large.”
In addition to opportunities to connect directly with brewers, Real, Wild & Woody is designed to simplify the sampling process. The Phoenix Convention Center was chosen strategically due to its proximity to the light rail, hotels and other craft beer hot spots. Ample space is intended to give attendees room to breathe while enjoying their brews and conversing with the brewers behind them.
“We’ll see some of the same faces from the Strong Beer Festival here at Real, Wild & Woody, but guests will be able to connect with them on a more personalized level,” Fullmer said. “This is our way of giving our brewers a platform to showcase some of their best work – AND an opportunity to connect with their biggest fans.”
Real, Wild and Woody’ new home will allow us to grow the festival into more. As craft beer continues to hit new economic heights in our state, the Arizona Craft Brewers Guild plans to create more educational and consumer events surrounding the festival. Downtown Phoenix will be the summer epicenter for craft beer in the southwest.
Currently, more than 50 breweries are signed on for the summer soiree, with more added to the lineup each week. Attendees will be able to wait in line inside throughout the event, in the cool comfort of the Convention Center.
