America’s National Parks are a sight to behold. From the awe- inspiring Grand Canyon to the subtropical ecosystem of the Everglades and beyond, our National Parks are among the greatest travel destinations in the world. And Rogue Ales and Pendleton Woolen Mills are teaming up to celebrate Oregon’s Crater Lake National Park with a new beer, Pendleton Pale Ale. The collaborative effort comes just in time for the 100th anniversary of the National Park Service.
Rogue Ales President Brett Joyce is proud of his home state’s natural beauty and the inspiration Crater Lake and other National Parks have bestowed upon all who visit.
“We can’t think of a better time to honor our state’s only National Park than on the 100th birthday year of the National Park Service,” said Joyce. “Pendleton has done such a wonderful job paying homage to the great outdoors with their National Parks program. It’s a privilege for us to brew this beer inspired by the beauty found in our own backyard.”
Pendleton President Mort Bishop echoes Joyce’s sentiments.
“Pendleton honored Glacier National Park in 1916 with the creation of the first national park blanket, Glacier Stripe,” said Bishop. “Celebrating America’s treasures became a part of the Pendleton brand from that point. Pendleton welcomes Pendleton Pale Ale to the National Parks Collection of products. We’re pleased that a portion of the proceeds from the sale of Pendleton Pale Ale will be included in our donation to the National Park Foundation for two landmark projects.”
Craft beer lovers will be able to purchase six packs of Pendleton Pale Ale 12oz. cans starting April 16, just in time for the start of National Park Week, which begins April 16. The beer will be sold at select retail locations, Rogue pubs, and Pendleton stores throughout Oregon.
