Just when you thought it was safe to buy beer in strict accordance with the German Purity Law of 1516, Oregon’s Rogue Brewing has again broken all the rules.
Rogue already has an interesting portfolio of bizarre brew and fans of its unorthodox style now have another beer to consider. It is Rogue Voodoo Doughnut Chocolate, Banana & Peanut Butter Ale, a beer made by combining Rogue Voodoo Doughnut with even more ingredients for a dessert- like beer unlike anything you have tried before.
According to Rogue, this new brew is made with two- row, c-150, c-175, carafoam special II, and chocolate malts; Rogue farms revolution and independent hops; pacman yeast; free range coastal water; and, of course, chocolate, banana, and peanut butter. Rogue refers to the mixture as a “collision of crazies.” Craft beer lovers who also love doughnuts and sweet flavors may find the collusion beyond delicious, but only time will tell as more craft beer lovers sample the beer and share their opinions.
Rogue Voodoo Doughnut Chocolate, Banana & Peanut Butter Ale is only available in select locations on the west coast, but interested consumers can purchase online through the Rogue.com, if they happen to live in a state that allows mail-
order shipments of beer. Otherwise, the ale is currently limited to the folks in states bordering the Pacific and it may or may not expand further east. Get a bottle if you can, and let Great Beer Now know what you think.
