Houston’s Saint Arnold Brewing has been creating distinctive beers for a long time yet continues to innovate, adding more seasonal beers and core brands to its regular lineup. In exactly one week, the good guys and gals at Saint Arnold Brewing will introduce two new beers to the year-round family: Juicy IPA and Headliner, a blonde ale.
First, let’s talk about Juicy IPA. In case you didn’t figure it out, this new beer is a juicy/New England style IPA and its hoppy personality bursts from the can with flavors of citrus and topical fruits. This beer is a little different from others of its style, focusing more on hop flavor and hop aroma than straight bitterness. Saint Arnold brews the beer with relatively few hops during the boil, then adds more in the whirlpool and dry hop stages. The result is a juicy IPA that is somewhat sweeter, less cloying, and eminently drinkable. It contains 7.1 percent alcohol by volume and 44 IBU.

Headliner is a blonde ale but, once again, it promises a taste and character a little different from others of its style. This beer is lighter, with a hop bill that results in a light citrus taste to complement its crisp, malty body. The beer contains just 4.3 percent alcohol by volume, making it good for session purposes.
One other cool fact about Headliner is the artwork on the cans. It is the handiwork of Carlos Hernandez of Burning Bones Press and if you are already familiar with Saint Arnold beers, then you have already seen Hernandez’s artwork on another product, Saint Arnold Santo. Carlos created the memorable image on the cans and bottles of Santo and he has been a friend and partner with Saint Arnold Brewing on many successful projects. He was the perfect partner for creating the artwork for Headliner, a beer certain to create headlines in a multitude of ways thanks to its highly drinkable nature.
Look for Headliner and Juicy IPA in six packs of cans starting on March 9, 2020 and on draft at select bars, restaurants, and other venues around the Houston area.
