Sampler 12 packs are one of the best options for the beer drinker who prefers variety. I happen to be one of those people- I would rather have, say, 3 bottles each of 4 different beers than a 12 bottles of exactly the same beer. St. Louis- based Schlafly Beer knows its customer base likes variety and it has responded in kind with the Frugi-Four, a 12 pack sampler with four distinct beer styles featuring four different fruits.
I know, I know- beer wasn’t meant to be breweed with fruit, right? I can hear some of you already thinking those words to yourself as you read. But if done right, fruit can serve as a distinctive enhancement to beer and part of the key is using only fresh fruits and no artificial fruit flavors. Schlafly Ambassador Brewer Stephen Hale assures consumers that artificial flavors are unwelcome in the Frugi- Four.
“A frugivore is someone or something who primarily eats, or in this case drinks, fruit. We wanted to celebrate our commitment to brewing true fruit beers”, said Hale. “This has always been an important distinction for us at Schlafly Beer. We use real fruit throughout different stages of the brewing process, which highlights the natural flavors and aromas of the carefully selected fruits to complement the paired beer styles,” Hale added.
The Frugi- Four joins other 12 pack samplers in the Schlafly seasonal lineup. The Hop Trail pack is released in late summer and the Stout Bout sampler is released in winter. Frugi- Four is now the brewery’s spring offering and Hale says the point of these variety packs goes beyond simply having different beers to try.
“The sampler packs encourage conversations amongst our consumers. It’s more than just about offering variety. Many gather with friends to trial the beers together at once and host their own mini tastings, and they utilize the packaging copy to learn a bit about the brewing process,” said Hale
Included in the Frugi- Four are three bottles each of Apricot IPA, Watermelon Lager, Raspberry Hefeweizen, and Peach Saison.
