St. Louis based Schlafly beer has a new lineup of craft brew certain to tantalize the senses. It’s called the Cellar Selections, a series that began in 2017 and is now carrying forward into 2018 with a new bottle design and new emphasis. First on the release list is Schlafly Raspberry Chipotle Brown Ale, packaged in a 750 ml bottle with a label that takes on a hand- written look, giving the beer an aura of exclusiveness.
Last year’s Cellar Selections included some amazing artisan selections, but the 2018 series is going to be even bolder, with greater creativity and more unusual ingredients and combinations. Founding brewer Steve Hale says the 2018 lineup will speak to everyone’s deepest craft beer desires.
“We brew and bottle all our Cellar Selections at our flagship Tap Room so the new design and line-up exemplifies how creativity thrives within that building with our brewing team–even after 26 years. These beers evoke excitement and intrigue. We want the rustic design to feel like our brewers invited you to try their secret experimental brews, which is how many of these Cellar Selections started. The larger bottle format makes the beers perfect to bring to a party and share amongst friends, and Raspberry Chipotle Brown Ale is a great way to get conversation going with intriguing ingredients in an approachable beer style.”
This first 2018 release, Schlafly Raspberry Chipotle Brown Ale, is brewed using only the finest ingredients, including fresh raspberry and jalapeno peppers. The fruit and peppers are met with a malty body for a taste sensation that alternates among fruit, earth, herb, spice, and bread. The hops are downplayed in this beer, leading to an overall flavor profile that emphasizes sweet, spicy, and smoky.
Raspberry Chipotle Brown Ale contains 5.9 percent alcohol by volume and has 24 IBU of bitterness. The beer will be available at Schlafly’s brewpubs and in select markets where Schlafly beer is presently sold. To find it in your area, visit Schlafly online at www.schlafly.com/beers/distribution.
