Missouri’s Schlafly Beer, one of the oldest and most beloved craft breweries in St. Louis, has announced the release of one of its most popular seasonal beers, Schlafly Pumpkin Ale. This year’s release is the same beer that fans have grown to love and anticipate every fall season, with a brand- new package design to keep things fresh.
Schlafly Pumpkin Ale consistently outranks other pumpkin brews for overall quality and flavor. The beer has notes of caramel and ginger spice and is fermented with fresh pumpkin. It then gets filtered with added infusions of cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove for a truly festive fall flavor. At 8 percent alcohol by volume, it is slightly more potent than the average pumpkin brew but it still remains smooth and highly drinkable.
Founding brewer Steve Hale says his brewery’s pumpkin ale is popular because it is several notches above others in its style category.
“Our special release Pumpkin Ale has been a seasonal staple for over 10 years, and we’re proud to be one of the first in the category,” says Hale. “Whether you’re pro pumpkin beer or not, experienced beer drinkers across the country have named Schlafly’s Pumpkin Ale as one of the best, and we intend to continue to earn that title, by using the same blend of seasonal spices to make a fresh, pumpkin-forward beer.”
The decision to create a new package design this year, according to Schlafly’s Lead Designer Sarah Frost, was driven by the desire to make the beer’s label invoke feelings of home.
“Our Pumpkin Beer is one of the best of its kind, and I wanted to create a design that highlighted that,” says Frost. “The Pumpkin Ale packaging is more illustration-forward to inspire feelings of comfort at home, where you would enjoy a fresh baked pumpkin pie. This is the kind of beer that reminds you why fall is your favorite season, and now we hope that the design also evokes all of the senses that make fall so wonderful.”

You should be able to find them. Pumpkin beers aren’t normally released this early in the year. Starting in September, you will see even more of them on the store shelves.
Reading this post, I am glad I get to know other beer varieties. In the Philippines, I only know of one beer brand.
