Schlafly Beer, a St. Louis original, announces the release of a new summer seasonal beer, Hazy Punch IPA. Brewed with Eclipse, Citra and Mosaic Hops, Hazy Punch IPA serves up a heaping helping of the qualities and tastes beer drinkers crave in a summer beer: hazy, juicy, fruity and hoppy. This new beer is available in 6-packs of 12-oz cans across Schlafly’s distribution area. It can also be found on tap at Schlafly’s four brewpubs: Schlafly Tap Room in downtown St. Louis, Schlafly Bottleworks in the Maplewood neighborhood of St. Louis, Schlafly Bankside in St. Charles, MO and Schlafly Highland Square in Highland, IL.
Look at Those Cans!
Schlafly CEO Fran Caradonna says this beer’s package design that will become more prevalent in the coming year.
“This beer celebrates the future of Schlafly’s approach to design and packaging,” says Caradonna. “Not only will it come from our new canning line, but it showcases a colorful and vibrant design, which is something that customers will see from us more this year – both for seasonal releases and with Schlafly staple beers.”
Hazy Punch IPA is the first new summer seasonal from Schlafly in many years. The hops are the star of this craft beer show, yes. But they have a helping hand from the addition of Cara Cara Oranges and pineapple. The hop bill already lends itself to fruity character, and real fruit additions add even more.
Schlafly Lead Brewer Jared Williamson elaborates further on the hops used to brew this beer.
“This beer is several years in the making and has quite the backstory on Schlafly’s efforts to stay at the forefront of new and experimental hops,” says Williamson. “It features the newest hop variety from Australia, Eclipse, and the yet to be named experimental hop HBC-586 from Yakima, along with well-known Citra and Mosaic. The flavor bursting hops offer juicy notes of mandarin and other citrus flavors.”

It gives me the idea of fresh and thirst-quenching, it is worth trying!
They say, aesthetics play a big part in purchase decision-making. Schlafly is on the right track, While I am an occasional beer drinker, the packaging caught my attention.
Beer is the perfect chill drink for summer. I will check out this brand’s flavor!
Oh, yum. This sounds like the perfect beer for the summer. I know I’d love this by the pool.
The packaging is so well done it definitely says “summer” to me! My husband would probably enjoy this as he likes IPA beers and is also from Missouri. He would like that it’s originally made in St. Louis.
Beers in cans are good even though I’m not a beer drinker. This packaging is nice and will be good for the future.
Whoa, Im so excited for these summer beers. They never fail to amaze me with these new releases.
Oh how cool! I am not a fan of beer but this has peaked my interest. It looks very refreshing and just what is needed for the summer. Definitely going to look into it!
