Have you stopped by your neighborhood World of Beer lately? If not, then you’re missing out on some delicious seasonal menu items, each of them paired with a recommended, compatible beer to make the taste experience even more memorable than otherwise. Great Beer Now headquarters happens to be just minutes away from a World of Beer location and the new Fall Seasonal Menu provided me and the wife a perfect opportunity to sample the new food items matched with just the right brew.
Disclosure: I received complimentary products from the World of Beer Seasonal menu. However, the opinions expressed are 100 % my own
Bring on the Fixin’s
World of Beer is still best known for its colossal selection of beer, but over the past few years, I have noticed a stronger emphasis on food and food/beer pairings. Beer dinners are growing in popularity and given that craft beer matches up so perfectly with certain foods, it makes sense that World of Beer would create its own food menu with recommended beer pairings.
World of Beer, of course, has its regular, year- round food offerings but its special, seasonal menus are often among its best, with creative foods designed to be enjoyed with equally creative beers. Here are the foods found on the World of Beer Fall Seasonal Menu:
- Prosciutto & Spiced Apple Flatbread- Made with Prosciutto ham and spiced apple, topped with toasted hazelnuts and goat cheese, this flatbread is a culinary creation all its own and is surprisingly comforting & satisfying. I had mine with a serving of Boulevard Tank 7 Farmhouse Ale and loved every minute of it.
- PB&J Wings- Everyone loves peanut butter and jelly, so why not apply these taste sensations to wings? That is exactly what World of Beer has done with these crispy wings glazed in blackberry balsamic jelly, then drizzled with spicy peanut butter sauce and served with a side of blackberry jam and peanut butter dipping sauce. I enjoyed these most interesting wings with Stone Mixtape Ale Vol. 14.
- Green Chili Chicken Nachos- Next on the Fall Seasonal Menu is nachos, but not just any nachos- Green Chili Nachos. World of Beer makes them using corn tortilla chips, green chili chicken, spicy cheese, tomatoes, green onion, jalapeño peppers and chopped cilantro. And the beer to serve with this spicy dish?- Stone IPA, which proved an excellent taste matchup.
- WOBtoberfest Brat Burger- Burgers are a tavern favorite. World of Beer has taken the burger concept one step further by adding a beer brat, house-made stone ground mustard, sauerkraut, beer cheese sauce, and caramelized onions all served on a toasted brioche bun. This brat and burger combo was served with a glass of the craft beer classic Dogfish Head 90 Minute IPA.
- Pumpkin Spice Apple Donuts- For those who have room, dessert is a nice way to cap off a great meal. These donuts are made using a traditional German fried apple donut which is then dusted with pumpkin spice sugar and paired with salted caramel for dipping. I savored mine with a glass of Woodchuck Gumption Cider.

Each of the five Fall Seasonal menu items will be available at every World of Beer location for a limited time. Guests need to realize, however, that the beers I tasted with each of the five menu items may not be available everywhere. It is up to each World of Beer location to find a similar style of beer to complement each of the five items. In your neck of the woods, you might receive a local craft beer or some other national available brand. But regardless of where you visit, the recommended brand of beer for each of the five foods will be one carefully selected to match, based on beer style.
From One Season to the Next
World of Beer is improving in many ways. The food selections continue to get better and better and I like how the restaurant/pub chain has worked to create a more complete and rounded experience. World of Beer is no longer just a place to find new beers to post to your Untappd account. It’s also a place for uniquely crafted food and I found the entire seasonal menu to my liking. If I had to select one as a standout, it would be the PB&J Wings because they were like nothing I have had before and they presented a combination of flavors that, at first, didn’t seem like it would mesh but they made it work beautifully. And with the excellent taste matchup with Stone Mixtape Ale Vol. 14, I gained a greater appreciation for the old adage that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.
Fall will make way for winter before you know it and with the change of seasons will come a change in World of Beer seasonal menu. The above items will only be around for a short time, so make your way to World of Beer and take a stab at any or all of the above menu items, paired with a recommended beer. They are all bona fide examples of the great things that can happen when you pair the right food with the right beer so get to your local World of Beer before time runs out.
