Spoetzl Brewery, the Texas brewing operation that is best known by its Shiner brand name, has released a new beer right in time for summer. The new summer brew is Shiner Cerveza De Verano, a Mexican style lager.
Cerveza De Verano is a seasonal beer release and it is brewed to match well with the relaxed, warmer weather that lies ahead. This Mexican lager is brewed with pale malts and a touch of citrus hops and agave nectar for an authentic Mexican personality.
This newest Shiner beer has fiesta written all over it, from its colorful cans to its festive flavor. It’s a crisp, light, refreshing beer that leans toward the sweet side, but also has earthy notes from the agave and citrus from the hops to give the beer a craft persona.
Cerveza De Verano contains just 4.5 percent alcohol by volume and a scant 20 IBU of bitterness. It is packaged in 12 oz. and 24 oz. cans, plus 12 oz. bottles. The six packs of 12 oz. cans/bottles carry a suggested retail price of around $8.99, which is right in line with other craft beers. And the 4.5 percent alcohol by volume is low enough that you can enjoy an extra serving or two and still maintain your stamina.
Summer beers are known for their lighter, more refreshing character and Shiner Cervesa De Verano easily fits this definition. Look for this new beer where other Shiner beers are sold and enjoy a taste of the summer, courtesy of Spoetzl Brewery.
