Sierra Nevada Brewing is set for another Beer Camp tour and beer lovers everywhere know what that means: Another 12 pack sampler of collaboration beers is heading to retail outlets. Like with the previous Beer Camp, Sierra Nevada is making sure that craft beer fans everywhere have a chance to take part in the fun through its collaboration beers and they are available right now at retail and select draught locations nationwide. These 12 packs include two bottles each of six different styles and were developed by 31 collaborating breweries from across the United States. Sierra Nevada worked with a regional team of five different breweries to create each of the six different beers. The idea was to create six distinct beers that represent the unique styles and ingredients common to that part of the country.
Sierra Nevada founder Ken Grossman stresses that Beer Camp is about celebration of the entire craft beer industry.
“We created Beer Camp Across America to be a true national celebration of craft beer,” said Sierra Nevada Founder and President, Ken Grossman. “As part of that, we brought our fellow brewers and friends who share our passion, admiration and bold approach to pushing brewing boundaries along for the ride.”
The 2016 Beer Camp Across America collaboration 12 pack will be available nationwide, with some of the six beers available on draught as well. Here is a quick description of each:
• Sweet Sunny South Southern Table Beer (4.9% ABV) – An easy-drinking, malt-forward beer with a tangy finish, featuring traditional Southern ingredients like peaches, tea, corn grits and honey.
• Pat-Rye-Ot Revolutionary Pale Ale (5.6% ABV) – A “revolutionary” Pale Ale inspired by the original 13 colonies with a nod to classic beer ingredients like rye and apple.
• West Latitude Session Rye with Hibiscus (5.5% ABV) – A Session Rye combining a Hawaiian influence of hibiscus with California’s love of hops.
· Moxee-Moron Imperial Session IPA (7.5% ABV) – A style contradiction honoring the Pacific Northwest’s hop-bomb heritage.
· Family Values Imperial Brown Ale (8.5% ABV) – An Imperial Brown Ale that embodies the togetherness of the Midwest and its native flavors, including wild rice, honey and cocoa nibs.
· Stout of the Union Robust Stout (7.3% ABV) – The ultimate combination of rich and roasty malt flavors from our Southern California friends.
Sierra Nevada Vice President Brian Grossman says the six resulting beers reflect the experimental and spirited nature of the craft beer industry.
“Leveraging decades of experience, these celebrated beer pioneers tinkered with flavors, explored native and exotic ingredients and poured heart and soul into the process,” said Brian Grossman. “Camaraderie resulted in truly exceptional brews. We’re all looking forward to sharing these beers with our fans and celebrating these collaborations at festivals across the country this summer.”
Beer Camp will once again feature a road trip of sorts with visits to six different American cities starting in June. Sierra Nevada’s team will roll into Tampa, Seattle, Milwaukee, San Francisco, Boston, and Los Angeles. Each and every craft brewery in the United States is invited to take part in the event and serve beer at the festivals and so far, more than 500 different breweries have already committed to make an appearance. Proceeds from the six fests will be donated to local brewers’ guilds and other nonprofits to encourage hops research and other industry supportive measures.
