Sierra Nevada Beer Camp and the accompanying sampler 12 packs of beer are some of the many things I look forward to each summer. This year, Sierra Nevada is one- upping an already impressive collaboration effort by expanding its partnerships on a global scale AND announcing a June Beer Camp on Tour with stops in eight American cities.
First, let’s talk about the beer. Past Beer Camp collaboration efforts have been limited to domestic breweries but this year, Sierra Nevada is spreading its wings far and wide, brewing beer with six different foreign breweries from across the globe. The six international guest breweries and countries of location are:
- Ayinger Brewing, Germany
- Duvel Moorgat, Belgium
- Fuller’s Brewery, United Kingdom
- Garage Project, New Zealand
- Mikkeller Brewing, Denmark
- Kiuchi Brewing, Japan
Domestically, the brewing partners for the 2017 Beer Camp Across the World are:
- Avery Brewing, Colorado
- The Bruery, California
- Boneyard Beer, Oregon
- Saint Arnold Brewing, Texas
- Surly Brewing, Minnesota
- Tree House Brewing, Massachusetts
This all- new 12 pack collaboration effort is the first international version of Sierra Nevada Beer Camp and it will be released nationwide in June, just in time for the beginning of Beer Camp on Tour. More than 700 breweries participated in last year’s Beer Camp on Tour and even greater numbers are expected this year. Here are the tour cities and dates:
- Portland, Maine- June 3
- San Francisco California- June 3
- Chicago, Illinois- June 10
- Philadelphia, Pennsylvania- June 17
- Raleigh, North Carolina- June 17
- Austin, Texas- June 24
- Long Beach, California- June 24
- Seattle, Washington, June 30
Like with past Beer Camps, every craft brewery in the United States is invited to take part in the festival and serve their beer. And, like in the past, each event will round itself out with local food trucks supplying the grub and local bands supplying the tunes.
Beer Camp is a massive celebration of beer and 2017 looks like it will easily eclipse previous Beer Camps in most every measurement. I look forward to sampling beer from the international 12- pack and with Austin, Texas only a short drive away, I hope to take part in this year’s festivities in person. Tickets are already on sale, so if you plan to visit one of the above eight tour cities, purchase your tickets today, and help make 2017 the greatest Sierra Nevada Beer Camp yet.
