Ska Brewing, the Durango, Colorado brewery with a large and growing fan base, has announced the 2016 return of its award-winning Mexican Logger summer seasonal beer. This beer establishes Ska Brewing as one of a growing number of breweries with Mexican style lagers and it has already picked up an award, taking the Silver Medal at The Great American Beer Festival in the International Style Pilsner Category last year.
Mexican Logger will arrive in stores on April 6 and fans are already anticipating its triumphant return. Brewed with fresh grains and Saaz hops, Mexican Logger is a great summer beer. With 5% ABV and 20 IBU’s this beer is highly sessionable and features a light to medium body with a clean, crisp finish.
Mexican Logger was well- received when it was first introduced and it has been expanding in popularity ever since. To make sure thirsty drinkers get what they want, Ska Brewing plans additional output to meet the greater demand. Word has it that Ska Brewing will increase year over year production of Mexican logger by 20 percent, better ensuring that the output keeps pace with consumer wishes.
Ska Brewing co- founder and president Dave Thibodeau is proud of his company’s creation and loves that Mexican Logger has been so warmly received by the craft beer community.
“Originally brewed in 1999 and first enclosed in cans in 2011, the Mexican Logger has been our top seller every summer. It has the DNA of a quality craft beer but the easy drinking appeal of a Mexican lager. Years of production equal years of perfection,” says Thibodeau. “I must say that it’s a perfect pairing with a long, hot day of brutal chainsaw work.”
Mexican Logger will be available from April through September throughout Ska Brewing’s distribution territory. The company has a celebration planned on April 6 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at its World headquarters in Durango, Colorado. Join the party on Facebook and keep your eyes peeled for this summer classic.
