Those who mistakenly believed the suds were going flat at Stone Brewing following last year’s small employee layoff need to think again.
Stone Brewing, it turns out, has kicked off the 2017 in a major way, with sales up 18 percent vs. the same time period last year. This is far better than the craft beer segment as a whole and it proves that demand for Stone’s core brands and new beers is stronger than ever.
Looking at specific members of the Stone Brewing family reveals strong advances for both old and new beers. Stone IPA, a longtime craft beer favorite, is up 8.2 percent. Stone Delicious IPA is up an incredible 142 percent. And Stone’s All IPA Mixed Pack, featuring three bottles each of Stone Pataska Red X IPA, Stone Ruination Double IPA 2.0, Stone Hop Revolver IPA, and Stone Delicious IPA, is up 14.7 percent. Stone Ripper IPA and Stone Tangerine Express IPA have also performed well.
Stone Brewing CEO Dominic Engels is pleased with the performances of Stone beers and says it proves that the craft beer revolution, at least at Stone, is far from over.
“2017 is off to a great start for Stone Brewing both on premise and off premise and it‘s showing us that craft beer fans nationwide appreciate our genre-defining styles of IPAs and our new complementary San Diego style Pale Ale – in Stone Ripper,” said Engels. “In a category that seems to be talking more and more about slowdown, we are pleased to be talking about continued double-digit growth.”
Many craft beer fans are aware of Stone’s foray into Berlin, Germany but few realize just how extensive Stone Brewing’s international reach truly is. Distribution presently includes 35 different countries and in the United States, Stone plans to expand availability to all 50 states.
“It’s been really amazing to see the traction on a global basis with fans and retailers thus far,” Engels added. “We’re excited as we look toward the horizon with even more expansion and distribution plans across the European market and beyond.”
