Sufferfest, the craft beer brand known for its emphasis on healthier malt beverage alternatives for those with active lifestyles, is ready to expand in a big way following the acquisition by Sierra Nevada Brewing. Sufferfest has moved its brewing operations to Sierra Nevada’s Chico, California headquarters and now has access to its parent company’s vast distribution network.
Sufferfest founder Caitlin Landesberg says it’s time to get brewing and make her company’s beers available to a larger audience.
“Northern California is our home and home to thousands of active, healthy, and passionate humans who don’t settle on taste and quality,” says Landesberg. “We can’t wait to increase our presence throughout this region and share our purpose-brewed beer with a community who goes the extra mile.”
Sierra Nevada is ready to start brewing and distributing Sufferfest’s flagship lineup of beer, a lineup that includes such fan favorites as Repeat Kolsch, Flyby Pilsner and FKT Pale Ale. Each of these beers is made for those who want something a little healthier than the typical beer; something that serves both as a thirst quencher and a more nutritious reward following a healthy workout.
Jeff White, Sierra Nevada CEO, says he and his team are ready to bring Sufferfest to the masses, starting first with the thirsty folks in the home state.
“We love Sufferfest’s story and are thrilled they are now part of our team,” said White. ”We are excited to bring Sufferfest to beer-lovers across California.”
Sufferfest beers are brewed using traditional ingredients, but with added extras such as blackcurrant, bee pollen, and sea salt. These are not ingredients you expect to find in a glass of beer, but these are precisely what sets Sufferfest apart and makes it better than the average beer for those who like to grab a brew following a jog, bike ride, or other physical activity.
California will be the first to experience Sufferfest with distribution planned for Los Angeles, Orange County, San Bernardino, Inyo, Ventura, Santa Barbara, Humboldt, Shasta, etc. Toward the end of the year, there is an excellent chance that Sufferfest will be expanded further, moving into more areas of California and likely into other states as well.
