Beer/restaurant collaborations might be more than just a temporary fad after all.
Taco Bell, that maker of dozens of similar, Mexican inspired fast- foods sold in different shapes and sizes, has teamed up with Blue Point Brewing to create a new beer. The product of their mutual business affection is Big City Bell Pilsner and it will be available at select Taco Bell locations in New York City starting on Christmas Eve, December 24, 2018.
The decision to debut the new brew in New York City coincides with the opening of three new Taco Bell Cantina locations in New York City- Manhattan, to be precise. The three new locations can be found at 224 7th Avenue; 500 8th Avenue; and 800 8th Avenue. Blue Point Brewing is based on Long Island, so the freshly brewed and packaged beer will not have far to travel.
Blue Point Brewing President Jenna Lally adores the partnership and is convinced customers will love the flavor pairing.
“We’re so excited to be part of the Cantina launch in our hometown,” said Lally. “We’re looking forward to New Yorkers relaxing and enjoying some tacos with the new Big City Bell Pilsner.”
Apparently, Blue Point Brewing has been courting Taco Bell as a potential partner for some time. This past summer, Blue Point launched a series of social media posts intended to get Taco Bell’s attention. The posts depicted Taco Bell’s fast food fare alongside a serving of Blue Point’s Macho Muchacho, a Mexican style lager.
At present, there is no word on whether or not Blue Point Big City Bell Pilsner will make its way into other markets. New York City is the only place that will sell this collaboration beer for now but if it turns out to be a huge success, Big City Bell Pilsner could very well show up in other Taco Bell restaurants from coast to coast.
