Beer festivals abound in the United States of America and one of the more scenic backdrops for any beer festival happens to be found in the great state of Colorado. I’m referring to the 23rd Annual TELLURIDE BLUES & BREWS FESTIVAL set for September 16 – 18, 2016. The organizers of the festival have now revealed the musical lineup and tickets are now on sale here.
This year’s festival will offer an eclectic mix of musical styles, including blues, funk, indie, rock & roll, jam band, gospel and soul performances from such notable artists as Joe Walsh, Gary Clark, Jr., The Mick Fleetwood Blues Band, Jason Isbell, North Mississippi Allstars & Anders Osborne present N.M.O., Shakey Graves, and many more.
Set in world-famous mountain town of Telluride, CO–in the heart of the Rocky Mountains—the three day festival site offers one of America’s most breathtaking venues with music, craft beer, and unforgettable memories to make the weekend complete. Colorado is known for its amazing natural beauty and Telluride showcases the magnificent scenery perfectly. Surrounded by mountains, the setting creates a divine atmosphere nestled in the heart of Colorado where the music can resound at its most powerful. Steve Gumble, president of SBG Productions, the organization responsible for the event, says the wide mix of musical styles and artists help set the Telluride Blues & Brews Festival apart from the rest.
“Every year, we look to put together an eclectic line-up, one that stands out among the other festivals, says Gumble. “There are so many festivals out there, and quite often their line-ups start to look very similar. I really enjoy combining iconic musicians like Joe Walsh with young and talented artists like Gary Clark Jr and creating a festival bill that appeals to both younger generations and older ones–it’s for the whole family. I’m honored to be able to continue to bring incredible music to one of the most beautiful venues in the world.”
Great music would be reason enough to schedule a trip to Telluride, but there is more. In addition to the tunes, the festival uncorks an equally impressive and diverse slate of more than 55 craft breweries serving approximately 170 styles of craft beer and cider. This year’s official beer sponsor Sierra Nevada Brewing Company will have personnel on hand with a bevy of favorites for tasting, trying, and enjoying.
One of the main events of the weekend will take place on Saturday September 17 during the Blues & Brews Grand Tasting, touted as one of the premier beer tasting events in the southwest. The Grand Tasting features selections from a total of 56 breweries, while the VIP Grand Tasting includes 20 exclusive breweries of its own. See a comprehensive list below.
