Nashville, Tennessee- based Tennessee Brew Works, the brewery known for such crowd favorites as State Park Blonde, 1927 IPA, Walk the Lime, and Basil Ryeman, has just released a new collaboration beer with another business- one that also specializes in adult beverages and is also located in downtown Nashville.
The partnership company is none other than City Winery, a business well- known to many Tennessee Brew Works fans, thanks in no small part to its close proximity, approximately a 2 minute walk away, and the fact that two of City Winery’s wines are available at Tennessee Brew Works, at all times. The new beer is a 2018 Limited Edition Belgian Strong Ale aged in City Winery 2015 Pinot Noir barrels and it features a complex flavor profile with malty notes, plum, fig, apricot, cherry, and oak.
City Winery winemaker Bill Anton says he is proud to be once again working with Tennessee Brew Works on a collaboration beer.
“As the only working winery in downtown, Nashville, City Winery has the unique opportunity to collaborate with our friendly neighbors, like Tennessee Brew Works, through the art of winemaking. For a second year in a row, we’re proud to have partnered with our Pie Town friends for a delicious beer using our 2015 Music City Pinot Noir barrels. This specific wine was awarded 92 points & Gold Medal “Exceptional” Rating by Tastings.com and is incredibly aromatic with a strong violet and floral aroma. The subtle tannin structure offers delicious texture and a smooth finish with bursts of strawberry and blackberry. Once again, we’re proud to work with the talented brewmasters at Tennessee Brew Work,” said Anton.
Tennessee Brew Works founder and president Christian Spears says the new beer is a labor of love between the two businesses and brings out the best in each.
“City Winery has been a wonderful neighbor and we’re always grateful for opportunities to partner with them,” says Tennessee Brew Works Founder and President Christian Spears. “This beer combines some of the best work of our two organizations and we’re proud to have our name it.”
The 2018 Limited Edition Belgian Strong Ale will be available starting July 13, 2018 at the Tennessee Brew Work’s Taproom, located at 809 Ewing Ave, Nashville, Tennessee. Remaining bottles will be sold on a limited basis at area retailers.
