On November 20th, Schlitz Brewing Co. – one of America’s most storied brands – will celebrate the lasting foundations of Modern American culture & hospitality at The Schlitz Bouts. With early Hollywood’s social landmark as the grand setting, guests will play an integral role in realizing an event worthy of a venue that’s hosted the escapades of legends like Charlie Chaplin, Lon Chaney, and Clark Gable.
At the heart of the night is showcasing boxing in its purest form, with four sanctioned bouts featuring passionate amateurs vying for city-wide glory. The spirited matches will be complemented by period-specific entertainment, including dance troupe The LA Follies, musical acts, comedians, and more.

At the same time, by welcoming creative and media visionaries, LA was establishing itself as the world’s entertainment capital,” said John Genest, Brand Manager for Schlitz Brewing. “The Schlitz Bouts creates a meaningful opportunity to celebrate how the brand and the city were leaders in establishing American industry and culture during the early 20th century.”
With style and aesthetic paramount to the event, guests are encouraged to wear modern takes on classic 1920s style. Inspiration can be drawn from a style guide created by The Brooklyn Circus, champions of historically-inspired American menswear. The BKc will also be designing the boxer’s trunks and a Brown Bottle Boxing Club commemorative apparel collection. These limited-edition items will be available online and in-store at BKc.
