Three Weavers Brewing Company brews its share of annual and seasonal brews and one of the seasonal beers is back for another run beginning today, September 23, 2019. The beer is Blood Junkie Imperial Red Ale, a balanced and memorable beer available in 16 oz. cans and on draft.
Three Weavers Brewmaster Alexandra Nowell says this beer is the perfect example of a what a west coast red ale should be.
“Our beloved imperial red is a modern West Coast beer through and through,” said Nowell. “It’s super hoppy with a dry finish. The aroma is bright and heavy with grapefruit, berry and fruity crystal malts leading the charge, and then lingering with notes of bright pine resin. The bitterness is assertive, but very well balanced and the color is a deep red,” Nowell added.
Blood Junkie Imperial Red Ale is brewed using two- row barley and British crystal malt. The hop bill includes Mosaic, Ekuanot, Simcoe, and Chinook and the result is a hoppy brew overall with tropical fruit flavors balanced with malty, piney notes. The popularity of this beer goes well beyond that of its fan base. Blood Junkie Red is also a hit with beer critics and even won a Gold Medal at the 2016 World Beer Cup.
This latest seasonal release can be found at the Three Weavers’ Inglewood, California taproom starting September 23. Look for it in canned form wherever Three Weavers products are presently sold.
