Tröegs Independent Brewing, one of the nation’s oldest craft breweries, is about to turn the ripe old age of 25. To celebrate the milestone, the brewery today announced a lengthy celebration starting July 18, which happens to be the date that Tröegs sold its first pint of beer back in 1997.
Celebrating Success
Tröegs Brewing was founded by brothers Chris and John Trogner, two ambitious siblings with a craft beer vision for central Pennsylvania. The brewery was, in fact, one of the earliest craft breweries in the state. And in an industry that takes strategic planning, solid marketing, customer focus, and dedication to hard work, surviving and thriving for a quarter century is no easy feat.
To celebrate, Tröegs Brewing is commemorating its past by releasing three throwback beers: Tröegs Pale Ale, Oatmeal Stout, and E.S.B. Ale. Each of these beers will be available on draft exclusively at its brewery.
Tröegs Pale Ale and Oatmeal Stout will kick off the celebration with release set for Monday, July 18. Tröegs E.S.B. Ale will follow on Thursday, July 21. And since this is a birthday party, there will be a limited amount of Tröegs Pale Ale dubbed “25 Years: Birthday Pale Ale” available in limited 16-oz. cans. This keepsake will be sold through the brewery’s General Store starting on Monday, July 18.
Fans of this Hershey, PA brewery have a chance to meet the founders on the brewery’s Guided Production Tours on Thursday, July 21 and Friday, July 22. If you want to visit Tröegs and partake in the tours, you can reserve a spot online by visiting troegs.com/tours.
Looking to the Future
Is Tröegs Brewing ready for the future? The answer is an enthusiastic ‘yes’ and the evidence is on display at the brewery right now. Just recently, Tröegs unveiled a new parking lot to better accommodate its growing fan base. And in the fall of 2022, Tröegs will begin use of a new canning line that will increase the capacity, speed, and quality of its canned beer.
Co- founder John Trogner says the current construction and improvements are only the beginning for Tröegs Brewery.
“We’ve been under construction for 25 years,” says Trogner. “That’s what we love to do – continuously improve and expand. We’re always thinking about what we can do in the next year, the next five years, the next 20 years to make the brewery better as a whole.”
Tröegs Brewing has been producing and serving quality brew for 25 years now and given its penchant for serving the customer and community, the best is still to come. Celebrate 25 years of Tröegs beer by visiting the Pennsylvania brewery or by grabbing a sixer of Tröegs beer today!
