Hershey, PA is much more than a place to indulge in Mr. Goodbar and Reeses Peanut Butter Cups. It is also a place for great beer thanks to the presence of Tröegs Independent Brewing. At Tröegs, the great beer never stops coming and the seasonal releases are much anticipated. The next seasonal beer to hit the stores and bars is Hop Horizon, an IPA that welcomes the upcoming spring season.
Seasonal IPA
Most beer drinkers don’t associate spring with IPA, but Tröegs Independent Brewing isn’t one to stick strictly with tradition. Hop Horizon is, in fact, one of several seasonal IPA, part of the Hop Cycle line- up. First introduced last year, Hop Horizon’s widespread appeal earned it a second go- round as part of the Hop Cycle, where it joins other hoppy faves like Field Study and Blizzard of Hops.
Hop Horizon is a juicy IPA brewed with a blend of pale malt, wheat, and oats. This cornucopia of grainy goodness is topped with a combination of Citra, Mosaic and Sabro hops. The result is a beer with notes of citrus, tropical fruit, and even a hint of bubblegum.
Tröegs co- founding brother and brewmaster John Trogner points out that, while the malt base is different and unique for an IPA, it’s the hops that steal the show.
“The aroma hits you as soon as you crack a can,” says Trogner. “It’s like smelling a hop field in full bloom.”
Hop Horizon Awaits You
Hop Horizon IPA serves up a modest 6.5% alcohol by volume. It is available on draft and in 12-oz. bottles and cans throughout the Tröegs distribution network. Get your Hop Horizon before the next Hop Cycle beer takes its place, and enjoy the fruity and tropical pleasure that awaits.

A long time I haven’t had any beer. This looks so good. I really want to try.
Beer and food. They’re better together. And their new flavor is perfect!
Interesting flavor profile! Sounds like one I would like, I prefer my drinks a little fruity/sweet.
Hhhhmmm…alright then. I await Edwin’s feedback on the scent that he gets when he pops the can! Thanks for sharing about it.
It’s been a while since I’ve had a beer. I look out for this when I go shopping. The flavour sounds fantastic.
IPA is my favorite type of beer! I’m more of a wine drinker, which is why I seem to like IPA best. I really like that this one is 6.5% ABV because sometimes IPAs can be too strong.
The fruity and tropical taste in the Hop Horizon IPA, sounds tasty! Need to add this to my list
I agree, usually in spring we want light beer, not IPA, but this sounds like it would be a great one to try. Seasonal drinks are fun since they change often.
I’d like to ‘crack that can’ right now! I enjoy sampling IPAs from all over the states and will certainly check this out!
I’m not a big fan of beers but Hop horizon seems interesting. I would consider 6 is a lot in beer if I would drink one haha.
Hop horizon sounds so good! I tend to go for lighter but this sounds yum!
That’s fun to have a spring IPA. Sounds like a nice option to try!
