And fantastic is what you get with the summer release of its once-a-year Double IPA, Nimble Giant.
Make Mine a Double
Nimble Giant was once an experimental beer release. Originally brewed as part of the Tröegs Brewing small- batch Scratch Series, Nimble Giant started with Mosaic hops and, after multiple attempts to perfect its flavor, the beer we know and love today was born.
Tröegs brewmaster and co- founder John Trogner says this tasty brew is not just deliciously hoppy, but versatile.
“Nimble Giant is perfect for an evening by the fire pit or posted up on your favorite local pub’s barstool,” says Trogner. “It’s big, bold, and has a classic West-Coast bitterness.”
What’s in the Can
Nimble Giant is brewed using Mosaic, Simcoe, and Azacca hops. Pilsner and Vienna malts supply the base. The flavor profile of this double IPA emphasizes tropical fruit, pine, and honeysuckle.
Deep orange in color, Nimble Giant weighs in at 9 percent alcohol by volume. This is more than your typical beer, but about right for this style.

Nimble Giant is sold in four packs of 16- ounce cans and this year, Tröegs Independent Brewing is adding to its fans’ anticipation with a contest. Random cans will contain a special “You Found the Giant” sticker. On this sticker is a QR code that can be used for entry into a drawing. The grand prize is a Tröegs Giant Jenga Tower.
