It’s presently mid- summer and thoughts this time of year are often focused on vacation, sun, barbecues, and staying cool. Fall is still a few months away but as any beer lover knows, the fall season is synonymous with Oktoberfest and the calendar is already filling up with these German- themed celebrations. One Oktoberfest making its sophomore appearance is unique in its genre, for it was the first of its kind to feature food and drink certified, 100 percent animal- free. I’m talking about the Vegan Oktoberfest, a Los Angeles event now back for another season.
More Days, More Space
Vegan Oktoberfest was a huge success last year and guests will be happy to learn that event organizers paid close attention to customers and their concerns. You wanted a larger space, with more elbow room, more food options, and more time to celebrate and that is exactly what you will get, as this year’s Vegan Oktoberfest is now a two day event and will be held in a larger venue. Here are some quick facts:
- Event: Vegan Oktoberfest
- Location: LA Center Studios, 450 S. Bixel Street, Los Angeles, CA 90017
- Date and Time: Saturday October 3 and Sunday, October 4, 2015; 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. each day with 12 p.m. admission for VIP
Last year’s inaugural Vegan Oktoberfest was held oceanside in Santa Monica and while it made for a scenic backdrop, the space was limited. Great Beer Now was in attendance last year and I agree with other guests who, while happy with the event overall, were growing frustrated as they waited in long lines for food and drink. By moving the event to LA Center Studios and expanding it to two days, there should be greater elbow room and more time to enjoy the beer and plant- based foods rather than spend excess time waiting in line to get them.
Entertainment and Contests
Vegan Oktoberfest will feature traditional German and other music, just like last year, along with some fun competitions. There will be a stein holding contest, costume contest, and chicken dancing contest. Guests are encouraged to show up sporting a great costume and otherwise ready to let loose and have some fun.
Beer and Food, of Course!
Great brew and delicious food are central to any Oktoberfest celebration. Vegan Oktoberfest will feature animal- free foods, beer, and other beverages, including some interesting and memorable substitutes for traditional German fare. I know- it’s hard to imagine an Oktoberfest without the meaty delights of bratwurst and schnitzel, but you would be surprised at some of the amazing culinary creations available at the Vegan Oktoberfest that are completely animal- free. It’s really interesting what some of these food vendors have created, most of which matches up quite nicely with your favorite German dunkel or IPA.
Tickets are Available Now
The price for admission to the Vegan Oktoberfest is $50 General Admission; $60 VIP Admission; and $20 for Designated Driver. If you act before July 15, 2015, the ticket prices are reduced to $40, $50, and $15 respectively.
General Admission and VIP receive unlimited beer samples with the price of admission. In addition, VIP guests gain admission at 12 p.m., which is one hour sooner and perfect for those who like to beat the crowds.

Summer is certainly a season for great beer. Craft breweries often brew lighter, more refreshing beer to help consumers cope with the higher temperatures and remain cool. But Oktoberfest is the true season for beer and Vegan Oktoberfest is a great way to celebrate not just the festive German occasion that dates back to 1810, but also the vegan lifestyle and its many health benefits. Click the link above, purchase your tickets, and get ready for two days of plant based food and brew in downtown Los Angeles.

Hi,
my name is Tommy and i´m from the Band “kasita kanto” from Germany.
We´ve played at a view Vegan Festivals here in Germany, the next one is the “Vegan Oktoberfest” in Munich, which seems similiar to yours.
I just wanted to ask, if it´s possible to support your Oktoberfest as well? Maybe not this year (i think its too spontanious) but maybe next year?
It would be such a pleasure for us, to play at your festival/ in your country.
On our Hompage you can find some Musicsamples and a radio interview with 3 more songs (live & unplugged). Our total time is round about 1,5 hours, next year i think round about 2 hours.
Hope to hear from you guys soon.
Vegan regards 🙂
Tommy
