As craft beer lovers, most of us prefer a cool glass of our favorite IPA, porter, hefeweizen, or artisanal sour brew to any other beverage. But when we do venture outside of our comfort zone, more often than not, we turn to whiskey. And as craft distilleries continue to open at a rapid pace, the variety of craft whiskey expands and so do the number of events focused on spirits. One event that is growing larger and more influential each year is Whiskies of the World, a celebration of fine crafted whiskey that has now expanded to five locations.
It’s a World Affair
Whiskies of the World originated as a local event in San Francisco and is now a featured event in five American cities. Here is a rundown of Whiskies of the World dates/locations already scheduled for the coming months:
- September 17, 2017: Austin, Texas
- September 30, 2017: Houston, Texas
- November 4, 2017: Atlanta, Georgia
- March 22, 2018: San Jose, California
- March 24, 2018: San Francisco, California
Whiskies of the World, like its name indicates, is a celebration of whiskey from across the globe as well as a taste competition. Guests at each event sample some of the finest distilled spirits produced in the United States, Japan, Ireland, Canada, Australia, the United Kingdom, and other countries. In addition to sampling and discovering new whiskey, guests can meet and mingle with the personalities behind the brands and other whiskey- loving folk out to unearth new and exciting taste sensations.
Attend an Event
With five separate event locations from California to Texas to Georgia, Whiskies of the World is within a few hours by drive or flight from much of the United States population. Tickets include general admission and VIP, the latter of which comes complete with special pours not available to others, and early admission.
Craft beer will always be my first malt beverage love, but like other beer loving folks, whiskey is my favorite liquor and the one I am most likely to seek out when I’m in the mood for a more potent libation. Whiskies of the World is an excellent way to learn more about this fascinating liquor and discover unique flavors and brands, some of which are produced right here in the USA. Follow the ticket link above, reserve your place at the still, and enjoy your time at this celebration of fine craft spirits.
