Aerosmith, one of the most popular and longest- lived American rock bands, is known for the toxic relationship between its two frontmen and there is a a beer from a Boston- area brewery that invokes their signature relationship.
The beer is brewed by Widowmaker Brewing of Braintree, Massachusetts and it’s name is Toxic Twins IPA. Toxic Twins is, as many know, a title often given to Steven Tyler and Joe Perry, the two men who have been part of Aerosmith from the beginning and whose musicianship has helped lead the band to the top of its field.
Toxic Twins IPA is on tap at this Saturday, September 8, 2018 at the Braintree Beer Garden, right next to Braintree City Hall. The beer garden will be open every Saturday from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. from September 8 through October 27, 2018.
Braintree Beer Garden will offer several other beers from other area breweries. Among the beers joining Toxic Twins IPA are Barrel House Z, Weymouth’s Article 15, Weymouth Barrel House Z, Marshfield’s Stellwagon, and Scituate’s United.
Toxic Twins might seem like a befitting name for a beer inspired by Tyler and Perry, but Widowmaker brewer and founder Ryan Lavery says the two Aerosmith members are only part of the inspiration behind the beer.
“More importantly for us Toxic Twins IPA is a tribute to the lifelong friendship I have with our taproom manager Derek Ta,” said Lavery.
Toxic Twins IPA is a New England IPA style beer with a juicy hop personality and 7.3 percent alcohol by volume. Be sure to visit the Braintree Beer Garden this Saturday for a taste of this new beer and pay your respects to the men who helped make Aerosmith famous.
