Wild West Brewfest, held in the west Houston suburb of Katy, TX, is one of the best beer festivals in the nation. This year, the event is on schedule and, like last year, it will take place in the Fall. Thursday, November 3 kicks off the entertainment with multiple events, followed by the Launch Party on Friday, November 4 and the main event on Saturday, November 5.
New Location
Founded by the Rotary Club of Katy, Wild West Brewfest has grown and evolved. Early attendees might recall that the festival was originally held in Katy’s Villagio Town Center. The popularity of the festival convinced organizers to relocate to the grounds of the Katy Mills Mall. The large parking lot at the mall and overall abundance of space made parking easier and made it possible to set up large tents, stages for live music, etc.
This year, Wild West Brewfest is again expanding and improving and will take place at a new venue, Typhoon Texas. This Katy waterpark is right next to the Katy Mills Mall and that means it is still within easy walking distance of hotels. There won’t be any water activities going on during the festival, but there will be plenty of beer on tap! And with the added space, there will be even more room for musical stages, lounges, etc.
It’s More than a Beer Festival
What makes Wild West Brewfest such a unique festival? Well, the 500+ beers on tap are certainly a factor, but there is something much greater. This festival is focused on charity, and it is one of the very few festivals in the nation that donates ALL of its proceeds to area non- profit organizations. You read that correctly. No one profits from Wild West Brewfest. There are no management fees paid, no rental payments, no royalties. Everyone who is working the festival is there on a volunteer basis. Every penny received is handed over to area charities.
And who are some of these charities? There are more than 35 recipients of funds from the festival. Beneficiaries include such notable non- profits as Katy ISD FFA, Katy ISD Fine Arts, Christ Clinic of Katy, the Ballard House, Katy Christian Ministries, MADD, Special Olympics Texas, and many others. Over the years, Wild West Brewfest has donated almost $1 million to these charities and others like them.

This is such an amazing festival! I love that it’s all done for local charities. This is what it looks like when people come together to do good in the world.
We live on the opposite side of Houston, so this isn’t too far! My husband and his parents would love going to the festival and I love that it helps their school districts since I work for HumbleISD and know how much the schools can use the funds.
Looking forward to this. Can’t wait to grab my tickets.
Aaahhhh…it’s my first time hearing of this beer festival. I’m sure my older brothers would literally kill somebody to be here. Thanks for sharing about it.

This is so cool even though I’m not a big fan of beers but festivals are fun. It would be a new experience to go to beer festivals.
