Beer festivals are one of life’s greatest joys. They bring together beer- loving folks under a banner of community and friendship and usually feature not just great beer, but also delicious food, live entertainment, and more. One of the very best beer festivals around is the Wild West Brewfest, organized by the Katy Rotary. The event is held in the west Houston suburb of Katy and for the first time ever, it is expanding to another Texas city.
Location and Other Essentials
Katy’s Wild West Brewfest, is scheduled earlier this year than last year. It will take place on Saturday, March 25 at Typhoon Texas Waterpark located at 555 Katy Fort Bend Rd, Katy, TX. Like with past festivals, there will be a Launch Party on Friday, March 24. Those who can’t get enough and want to expand their entertainment one more day are invited to attend the K- Town Throwdown Party on Thursday, March 23.
Long time attendees will want to set aside time for the big event in Katy, Texas. But there is a new opportunity this year to experience a second Wild West Brewfest. Yes, the festival has expanded and will also be held in the Austin suburb of Pflugerville, Texas. The festival will take place on Saturday, April 8 with a Launch Party on Friday, April 7. There will even be an affiliated golf tournament on Thursday, April 6.
The Pflugerville Wild West Brewfest will also take place at the local Typhoon Texas waterpark, located at 18500 TX-130 North Service Road, Pflugerville, TX.
Charity is Key
What makes the Wild West Brewfest so special is that it is 100 percent dedicated to community causes. No one makes money from the festival. Everyone who works the fest, serves food, pours beer, plays an instrument, or assists in any other way is doing so as a volunteer. This makes the Wild West Brewfest unique among beer festivals. Every penny you pay for a ticket will go to local charities.
Just how much has the Wild West Brewfest raised for important local causes? Following another successful event in 2022, the total money raised for charity is now approaching $1 million dollars! Folks, this is reason enough to set aside time to attend this unforgettable craft beer event. You just don’t find festivals, beer or otherwise, that are this dedicated to making the world a better place.

Wild West Brewfest is more than a decade old. We at Great Beer Now have been promoting and attending the event each year since its founding. What started as a relatively small event at a local shopping center in Katy quickly caught on with the public. It continued to grow and continued to raise funds for important charitable causes. The decision was made last year to move the event to Typhoon Texas waterpark, which proved a huge hit with locals when it was held in November 2022.
This year, the Wild West Brewfest has expanded to another Texas locale. It is extremely satisfying to see another Rotary club offer a Wild West Brewfest of their own, as committed to great beer and community support as the original. I hope to see this trend continue into the future, with more cities offering their own version of this highly- acclaimed beer festival.
Both versions of the Wild West Brewfest take place in early spring, 2023. Don’t waste any time- go online to Wildwestbrewfest.com and get your tickets while they are still available. It’s a beer festival like no other and now there are two opportunities to sample some of the best beer brewed in Texas and elsewhere while supporting worthy charitable causes.
Mark your calendar and make your way to Houston and/or Austin Texas and show your support for local causes!
This sounds like a lot of fun! I’m not much of a beer person, but I might have a glass if I go! Thank you so much for sharing!
What a great festival! I love that the proceeds go to charity and it sounds like a great time. Thank you for the suggestion.
The Brewfest sounds like a great time for beer drinkers. I’ll pass it on to a few of my friends.

I like beer in the summer. I hope we can find a babysitter for the kids and finally get drunk with my husband. Btw I have never been to Texas yet.
Ooohhhh…it is good to know that the money collected from here, shall be going to charitable causes. Best of luck in that endeavour.
My cousin is a very big fan of beer, but this is taking it to a whole new level. Sounds like everybody will be having a blast!
I can’t wait to share this with my family and friends! We love beer and this will be a fun event for us to checkout! Especially with the t-shirts! Sharing now!
What a coincidence. I’m planning to visit Houston at the end of the month. Never heard of this.
That’s a long time for a decade and attending the events must be fun doing this many times.
