Wild West Brewfest has made quite the name for itself during its first five years. Taking place in the west Houston suburb of Katy, Wild West Brewfest is praised for its community involvement and is one of the few beer festivals anywhere in the world that gives back 100 percent of proceeds to important causes. One of the many recipients of Wild West Brewfest generosity is Future Farmers of America (FFA). In fact, the Wild West Brewfest prides itself is helping young people, donating to several important youth- related causes. With FFA, the Wild West Brewfest recently assisted kids in several ways,- something that event organizer David Loesch says is befitting of the festival and its goals.
“The vision of the WWBF is to help students in need” says Loesch. “We were proud to buy over $15,000 of animals at the local KISD FFA auctions and barn sales which happened February 18, 2017.”
Loesch went on to say that the FFA and other causes are important to the Wild West Brewfest mission and that these events are possible thanks to the support of so many volunteers.
“We are proud as the Rotary Club of Katy and Wild West Brewfest to provide assistance to these great organizations while letting our students know that we care and believe in them, but we could not do this without our sponsors and or patrons, we are grateful that they have chosen to support us. These donations take the WWBF over the $300,000 level in its 5 short years of existence,” Loesch said.
Topping over $300,000 in donations in such a short time is an impressive milestone, but the Wild West Brewfest reached another such pinnacle from another beer publication. Hopculture.com, an unbiased beer news source, has selected Wild West Brewfest the Top Fest for May. Hopculture.com regularly rates different beer festivals so this recognition is most appreciated.
Wild West Brewfest is one of the best beer festivals in Texas or the United States and it is scheduled for its sixth edition on Saturday, May 13 2017 with a special launch party on Friday, May 12.
